Expected release: 18.4.26 Limited edition 2,000 copies! Fear Factory's 2001 album Digimortal entered the Top 40, but its only vinyl release was in Germany in 2007. Its reissue now couldn't be more timely. Another concept album in a series that began with Demanufacture and continued with Obsolete, Digimortal is short for “Digital Mortality,” and prophetically explores the theme of man and machine merging into one (spoiler: it doesn't end well). Musically, the band has simplified the sound and added a touch of melody, but there's no mistaking it: this is full-blown nu-metal/death metal, with an interesting techno layer on top. Perhaps the term “Cybercore” best describes this album, which now arrives in its Record Store Day edition, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, in an expanded edition that includes four bonus tracks that have never appeared on vinyl and, exclusive to this Record Store Day edition, a format-specific remaster, pressed on black vinyl with blue spots, and protected in a Gatefold sleeve. Limited to 2,000 copies worldwide, the reissue was made with the full support of the band!
